Get to Know Matt
Matt Barnett enjoys his job as a traveler in the Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab. His current assignment is in Marshalltown, IA, and he is grateful that his career path includes travel and allows him to work with a variety of patients and medical professionals.

“I like the learning experience that comes with working in many departments around the nation,” says Barnett, who knows he will be working at a new location in the near future. “Traveling has helped me be better at my job and I have benefitted by seeing how things are completed in Iowa versus in Oklahoma. Working at different facilities also offers me the chance to work with many different physicians, some with vast experience and others directly from school.”

His career as a radiographer was an obvious choice to him when he found out he could train intensively for two years and then have a solid career. Since he was married with two children when he started class, he wanted something that would allow him to provide for his family, which his career does.

His favorite part about attending Autry was being a part of a system that promotes success. “The staff at Autry truly has a system in place that allows success,” says Barnett.

“I am married to a great woman and we have two beautiful daughters,” says Barnett. “The three of them are the reason I wake every morning and the reason I desire to know more and more. I love to spend time with them, read, play guitar, and I do get stuck in the occasional PS3 game. I am getting to the time where my oldest daughter is starting to look at Autry and I am excited for her as well,” he adds.

Barnett enrolled in Autry’s collision repair program in 2003 and enjoys working on cars. He credits Autry with training him for his profession and for at least one of his hobbies—working on cars.

He celebrates his success and is one of the lucky professionals who is paid to do something he has a passion for. “I may not have a bachelor’s degree, but I am doing what I love at home and at work, thanks to the training I received at Autry.”
